Q: What does Grassroots HREDC stand for?
A: HREDC is the abbreviation of Human Rights Education and Development com-mittee.
Q: What does Grassroots HREDC do?
A: We are working to assist migrant workers from Burma in Takua Pa District and other nearby districts in Phang Nga Province. Specifically, we have six projects such as Education, Women’s Program, and Children’s Program. More information under “Current Projects.”
Q: Where does Grassroots HREDC work?
A: We are originally based in Sankhraburi, a Thai-Burmese border town. But cur-rently we are located in Khuk Khak, Takua Pa District in Phang Nga Prov-ince in southern Thailand.
Q: Where is Khuk Khak?
A: Khuk Khak is about 100 km north of Phuket, about 100 km south of Khuraburi (Click here to see the region map).
Q: Who does Grassroots HREDC work for?
A: In a sense, we are working for both Thai and Burmese people in Takua Pa District as well as other nearby districts in Phang Nga Province. But we are currently focussing on Burmese migrant workers in this area.
