Volunteering at GHRE has been a great opportunity to be a part of getting things done at a grassroots level, actually witnessing the positive effects of the work done by people at the NGO. Having a volunteer coordinator is a great way to be introduced to the NGO, especially as it is a Burmese-run organisation. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time teaching the beautiful woman at WEDA and I really hope the project that is being planned will provide the woman with opportunities to gain an income from all the sewing they do. I enjoyed my day at the opening ceremony of the Khok Kloy learning center seeing all the traditional costumes and dances. I wish GHRE all the best their work in Thailand and even more so for an improvement in the government and therefore in the life of the people of Burma.
