"Volunteering at GHRE was a thorough and complete experience. It gave me great insights and exposure to the work of a grassroots organization. At the same time, I met wonderful and dedicated people who became my friends. I particularly liked feeling this integrated into the Burmese community and getting to know people while sharing their meals and laughs. I thank the whole FED team for its efforts in welcoming me and making my six months in Thailand a great experience. Of course, I'll never forget the women of WEDA with whom I was working most of my time. I hope that FED will successfully keep on helping the Burmese migrant communities"

When I first arrived at FED I did not know much about the Burmese migrant situation. Since arriving, I have learnt from staff and the interns about Burma's history with Thailand, Japan and the British.

I really enjoyed the friendship and the kindness of the people. The pupils at Youth Outreach are outstanding .They are all great personalities.
I found out that education really is a human rights. And I really liked the fact that I had the chance to learn more about other culture.

It was my first work experience in a NGO and I do not regret my choice to do my internship with FED .It was so enriching because I worked in close contact with Burmese migrants who shared me their experiences in Thailand.

My volunteering at FED has been a unique and very rewarding experience. I collaborated with the Women’s Program for three months and interacted closely with the women working at the women’s center (WEDA), whom I feel proud to call my friends. I got very impressed with these women. They had to leave their country and are living in hard conditions in Thailand, but they still keep a big smile, a high spirit, and keep fighting to help other women like them in the Burmese communities. I am very grateful to them because they accepted me and made me feel like one more of them. We worked hard together, but also enjoyed very good moments that I won’t ever forget.
