Yesterday the Thai Yap newspaper reported that three Burmese girls who were forced to work in sex trade were saved by special police force.

The victims were saved before being forced to work in the sex trade in the Chalala Karaoke shop, located in Section-7, Sadaung, Songkhala province, on the Malaysian side of the Thai-Malaysia border.

The owner of Chalala Karaoke shop is Nai Arekyan (or) Tey Boon Tiong and he was extremely defensive when police General Htamanoon Payonyone and force from region-9 of the province raided to his place.

"I was granted a warrant from Nahtawee judicial office, Songkhala province to raid and arrest. We have saved Thin Thin San (20) and 2 others. They have already been given back to their families and we will punish the owner according to Thai law" the police General said.

The girls were questioned and recounted how they were beaten and threatened if they did not treat their customers well. In the statement given by the victims, they also said that they had been locked in a room and told that if they got more experience they would be sent to Malaysia.
