One day training in floral design was conducted at a Youth Outreach School run by Foundation for Education and Development (FED) based in Phang Nga province, southern Thailand. Ten young ladies participated in the training which was run by Denmark trainer Ms. Karina.
"The objectives of this training were for those young Burmese ladies who are interested in floral design to have the ability to choose appropriate designs, flowers, effective placement and colour matching as well as providing an opportunity for creative thinking, sharing ideas with each other and to relax at the end of a tiring day. I saw that all the young ladies were actively involved in the training and exchanged their different opinions and happily created floral arrangements together including floral pots and hand-held floral bunches. I was impressed by the achievements of this distinctive training in such a short a time." Mrs. Po Po, deputy director of the foundation.
Ms. Karina, the trainer also gave her remark that; "I came to this organization for volunteering work. In the interview that I had before I cam here, I said that I used to work in a flower shop in Denmark; as a result, FED organized this training. I really enjoyed designing floral arrangements with the young ladies. The staff encouraged me to host floral training so I made this half day tuition. This experience was really exciting for me. All the ladies really wanted to learn about how to design flowers and the different floral arts. We made it together in a short time and sharing idea between school girls and ladies was a good experience".
Within the floral training, chrysanthemum (Gandamar), Spider orchids, Thai orchids and other natural flowers and leaves were used as materials. |
